A Scottish Celebration in Central Park

A Scottish Celebration

I have to admit that I have a fetish for Scotland.  I first went when I was 23 years-old to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and became hooked.  I've since been back with my kids to this insanely wonderful country and love to celebrate its grandiosity every chance I get. Organized by the New York Road Runners & sponsored by the Scottish Government, the Scotland Run is part of a program of activities celebrating Scotland Week 2012. Scotland Week is organized by the Scottish Government, … [Read more...]

Review: New York City Photo Safari

Central Park

When I got an email about listing a photography course offered by a company called NYC Photo Safari, I decided I simply had to try it.  Photography skills are something I have mastered, and I also haven't mastered iPhoto which the course promised to teach.  I was instantly intrigued and signed up immediately. This Summer’s Free Concerts in NYC

summerstage

There's nothing like summer in New York City.  It doesn't matter how much money you make.  Every summer free music is offered all over the city and it's at your fingertips, easily accessible all over the city.  NYC attracts the world's best artists to perform for the masses and the offerings are unreal. I've seen some of my favorite artists perform for free in the city - everyone from Freedy Johnson &  Annie Lenox in Central Park to David Byrne at the Bandshell in Brooklyn.  Even U2 gave a free concert one year in Brooklyn at the Empire … [Read more...]
