A Scottish Celebration in Central Park

A Scottish Celebration

I have to admit that I have a fetish for Scotland.  I first went when I was 23 years-old to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and became hooked.  I’ve since been back with my kids to this insanely wonderful country and love to celebrate its grandiosity every chance I get.

Organized by the New York Road Runners & sponsored by the Scottish Government, the Scotland Run is part of a program of activities celebrating Scotland Week 2012. Scotland Week is organized by the Scottish Government, Scottish Development International, and VisitScotland. This year’s program includes Scottish Ministerial visits and meetings with key business organizations to support economic development opportunities; develop new strategic relationships and promote Scotland as a good place to live, work, study, visit, do business and invest.

The 9th annual Scotland Run (10K) on Saturday, April 7th in Central Park is a festival in full force! Participants will enjoy organic Stoats porridge bars, hear Scottish pipers and dance to live music by Scocha. Plus, there’s the opportunity to win fantastic raffle prizes. Guest can also show off Saltire too by coming in their best Scottish garb. Snap a photo and share it with About Scotland because the best dressed wins BIG! This free festival takes place from 8:00am until noon.

If you can’t be there in person, join in the social media conversation (or do both!)
