Gaggle of Chicks is a name you’re sure never to forget. When I first heard the name, I flocked right on over to the site to find out what it was all about, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Much like groupon, Gaggle is a site for NYC moms to find out about and purchase discounts (up to 90%) on theater, flowers, clothes, yoga classes, facials, museum passes, high tea, art classes, organic food, CPR classes - one week they even had 50% off Gaga sleep doctor consultation. The Gaggle staff is highly selective about their offerings, and opt for vendors recommended by their network of moms.
You might have also seen me tweeting about the 50% discount to the New York City Ballet they were offering this week. They get really good deals.
Their approach is this: If enough moms sign up for a deal and becomes part of the Gaggle community, it “hatches” and everyone gets the discount. Plus, when users invite their friends, everyone gets $10. When the friends you refer sign up, they get a $10 credit. When they make their first purchase, you get a $10 credit.
They also feature discussion forums where members can share their views on their promotions, as well as read reviews from other moms before purchasing something from Gaggle. And of course, they have a Gaggle blog.
