Moms On the Move and Special Giveaway for 1 Whole Week of Din Dins Meals

Yesterday I had the pleasure of joining a very special luncheon at the legendary 21 Club in NYC in honor of an organization called Moms on the Move, an organization who’s sole mission it to help and inspire moms.  Paul Caine, Executive VP and Chief Revenue Office, introduced its founder, Linda Swain, as someone who has not only inspired him to be a better person, but as someone who is out to change the world.

Moms on the Move is a glance into the lives of inspiring moms everywhere, highlighting the balance of family, career and life and issues that affect parents and children. Created and hosted by Linda, it’s a show that features real and celebrity moms who share their incredible life situations that they handle successfully.  Linda told us that age age 42, she left a successful career as an attorney to start this business so she could serve others.  She had an “Aha!” moment when she was sitting next to Robin Leach at a wedding and entered television soon after that with her program geared toward moms in mind.  She set out to help moms share stories, share energy and show up for each other.  Over the years since she started, she has met incredible moms. Without prior television experience but with her idea, her passion and a leap of faith by the general manager and news director of NBC10 in Philadephia, Linda went LIVE on the air in August of 2002 with Moms on the Move. Her goal is to affect a global audience by empowering local moms.  She tells stories of real-life moms.  She tells stories about eating disorders, discipline, positive parenting, adoption tips, how we can change the world and more.  Take a look at one example of one of her segments about a mother of five who owns a non-profit to train young people on all aspects of the performing arts.

The business is a family effort.  She works with her husband, who also owns a very successful travel company called Swain Tours, and her daughter.  She is also a classically trained musician.

Moms on the Move is an inspiring organization, and one that you should check out.  They truly want to hear your story.  It made me feel like I can do anything and I am very glad I made into the city despite the huge amounts of snow outside my door in Westchester.  Email info@momsonthemove.com if you have a story to tell.

Din Dins Food, another inspiring company started by a mom who wants to bring healthy foods into young children’s lives, was one of the sponsors of this event.  I have known about Din Dins Food for a while, but did not know about it when my two children were young.  DinDins meals are organic, all-natural and homemade prepared with only the freshest ingredients from recipes devised by a nutritionist and cook. There are no preservatives, additives or artificial ingredients. Because our foods do not contain additives, they come fresh, and are freezer stable for 3 weeks. And, they will be delivered right to your door, if you live in NYC (up to 100th Street)  or Dumbo.

At yesterday’s luncheon, I happened to win a week’s worth of homemade, healthy, organic toddler food delivered to my home.  BUT my kids are ages 6 and 7, and I trust that they are too old for this very kid-friendly food.

  2. I am of course a fan on Facebook (and in real life) and left a post on your wall again making my daughter out to be a meatball addict. I’m sure she’ll need years of therapy for this at some point.

I’d love to try this! Thanks! @BabiesGottaHavT
