Where I’ve Been

Where I’ve Been

Since I last wrote a piece on where I've been, I've certainly fed into my strong, evergrowing wanderlust. I've circled the globe and have visited ah-mazing, breathtaking places like Hawaii, Mexico and Iceland. And I've managed to hold down a job, raise a family  and write A LOT: Huffington Post 10 Places You Must Visit with Kids Skip the Crowds: Peak Days to Avoid Disney World (and When to Go!) Where You’ll Find Me

where you'll find me

I've been quiet on the blog because I'm currently on a wellness trip in Kauai. Yes, I mean Hawaii. Sometimes these trips come at exactly the right time and I feel very privileged to be on assignment here. I have had several articles featured on the web recently and wanted to share a few of the links. Where You’ll Find Me

where you'll find me

Very happy to say that this blog has led to so many freelance writing opportunities over the course of the last few years and that my Journalism degree is paying off! This is the time of month where I share some of my clips, which are listed here, too. My travels, with the kids and without, took me far and near in mid 2014 and I've been writing about them all over the web. Look for future clips on some of my upcoming trips including Hawaii, Washington, DC and Florida (and the year just started): Parade Magazine Five Family-Friendly Read More

Where You’ll Find Me

where you'll find me

While I've been hunkering down on work and personal life over the last few months, I've managed to keep on writing about my favorite activity: TRAVEL. I do have a few trips coming up very soon, so stay tuned for more, more, more as I continue my journey to explore the world, mostly with my kids in tow. I want to inspire them by showing them parts of the world I didn't really start exploring until I hit adulthood. Here's where you'll find me. Over on MiniTime, where I write bi-monthly about family travel, I wrote about Great Things to Do with Read More

Blog Hopping: Why I Write

Write what you love

I have always loved to write. I thrived in Honors English Classes in high school, writing short stories and poetry and was on the editorial team of the school newspaper. I went on to major in Journalism in college and spent some time in the CNN newsroom before moving to NYC to work in television programming and production. Eventually, I ended up working in publishing where my writing skills really came into play. But it wasn't until I started blogging that I truly captured my journalistic spirit, returning to my roots in writing. From travel to culture Read More

Where You Can Find Me

Every week I try my best to write here on The Culture Mom as much as I can.  It depends what I have to talk about.  You've probably seen my content change recently.  I've been going a little bit more personal and I tend to only cover events, books, movies, plays that I see.  I rarely mention anything that I don't have direct contact with. But there's also my free-lance writing.  I have deadlines every week, at least one or two.  I'm not sure if you know, I hope you do, that I do a lot of travel writing for several sites as a regular contributor and I Read More
