Free Car Seat Check for Public next Friday

When my kids were newbies, I used to take the car seats to have them checked by the local police to make sure they were safe & sound.  I had to have an appointment and it wasn’t the easiest thing to arrange.  But I realized the significance of doing it – you simply can not take any risks with your children and they have to be buckled in safely.

Had it been available, I would have loved a public check.  Only now it is.  Next Friday, on July 16th, Dorel Juvenile Group and AAA are hosting a free car seat check for the public from 10am – 2pm at Access Safety City, 672 West 158th Street, New York, NY 10032.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 75% of car seats aren’t installed correctly. A recent survey from Dorel Juvenile Group and AAA found parents’ knowledge of car seat safety is lacking – as the majority of parents surveyed don’t know up to what age their child should ride in a car seat or the best place to install it.
At the event Child Safety Expert and Certified Passenger Safety Technician Kimberlee Mitchell will be on-hand to take parents through new industry recommendations, installation tips and do’s and don’ts of the road when it comes to child safety.

Don’t miss this important free car-seat check.  It could save your child’s life.
