How to Find Out the Best Toys for Christmas? Head to Time to Play

Moshi Monsters

This past week, I stopped by the Time To Play showcase to see what was new for the holiday season this year. There was so much to look at and quite a lot stood out.  Here were some of my favorite products: 1. Moshi Monsters - My children are mad about the Moshi Monsters online games and I was pleased to see that the brand is making a big push to bring them offline, as well.  They are making a push for Moshi Monsters in offline toys and play with plush figures, collectible Moshling figurines, TV programming, and a magazine.  They understand that kids Read More

My Son the Fashionista

ann taylor

Last week I got invited to the opening of Ann Taylor's new concept store, marking the brand’s first new concept store in White Plains and third in the state of New York. Ann Taylor opened two concept stores this past year. They were hosting an in-store party and styling clinic co-hosted by fashion expert Lucy Sykes.  It was also a fundraiser with the Junior League of Central Westchester Wayside Cottage, a not-for-profit organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and to improving the community through the Read More

School’s Almost Here and We’re All Leaving Home

Tiny Prints

This coming back to school season has special meaning for me.  I feel like I've graduated. Both my kids will be in school full time, until 3pm everyday. My daughter is 8, my son is nearly 7.  The occasion is momentous for all of us. For me, it marks a milestone in my own life.  The pre-school years are over.  No more 9am drop-offs and 12pm pick-ups. No more having to fill the day with constant activity.  No more school days filled with just playtime.  This year both my kids will have more intense academics, they'll both have homework.  They'll have 6 Read More

A Star is Born

Fashion Playtes

Picking out clothes for my daughter isn't as easy as it used to be when she was younger.  I used to go shopping and she loved everything I brought home.  Usually, I just picked up any item that was pink or purple, and it was an instant hit. Unfortunately, we no longer always see eye to eye.  I bought her home a pair of shoes last week that she nix'ed, and I can tell that her fashion sense is fast forwarding itself past my own, and she now looks to some of her friends and heroes, like Selena Gomez, for fashion advice and approval.  It's sad but true. Shopping Smarter at Marshall’s/TJ Maxx and Giveaway

audrey3

As a 40+ year-old woman, I am constantly on a quest to become a better dresser.  My body's changing.  I can no longer just slip into a size 6 like I used to.  Whether it's true or not, two pregnancies have taken a toll on my body. In addition, I don't have as much time to color coordinate my clothes, and I find myself spending less and less time trying to figure out what I'm wearing.  I generally always feel under-dressed, like I'm wearing the wrong thing, like I don't have enough dressy clothes.  Now that I am re-entering the workforce in more full Read More
