Color Coaster

I was very happy to be invited to a special event at the Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk, Connecticut last week called Kid for a Day. The event was in lieu of the museum's re-opening after two years of construction and a few months of closure during renovations. They are re-opening this weekend, and about twenty of us were  given a sneak peek at the museum's new wing.  The museum has always been a big part of my own children's lives, and I was eager to see all the improvements up close.  Oh, and of course I wanted to be a kid for the … [Read more...]

Yesterday I decided to take some time out and do something I'd wanted to do for a while: go into the city and hit the Picasso exhibit at the Met.  Since the very first time I went to the Picasso Museum in Paris, and then to the one in Barcelona, I became a huge fan of this famous artist and was eager to see the Met's collection before it closes on August 15th.  Picasso is not only one of my favorite artists, but one of the most pivotal artists of our time. … [Read more...]

Kid Culture: The Jewish Museum Presents Curious George Saves the Day and Giveaway for Tickets to Exhibit

My 5 year-old son adores Curious George.  That could even be an under-statement.  We read his books nightly, watch the show daily and listen to the film soundtrack regularly. The books about Curious George resonate with my son and millions of children around the world and promote a sense of exploration like no other.Fortunately, for me, I got to preview a new exhibit at the Jewish Museum today called Curious George Saves the Day: The Art of Margaret and H.A. Rey that will run from March 14th to August 1st.  From now on, I will read the … [Read more...]
