Announcing the RESPECT Challenge

I was excited to learn about The RESPECT! Challenge this week at the Social Good Summit.  It’s a national public action campaign and contest that’s intended to spark a conversation about the critical role that parents, teachers, coaches, family, and mentors play in shaping young lives and promoting a respectful society.  The campaign is designed to celebrate everyday heroes–someone who has taught you the lesson of respect.

Some of my favorite actresses have signed up to promote the program and have given their own responses about who taught them about respect: For Nicole Kidman, it was her parents. America Ferrera credits her fifth grade teacher. Watch the video below for responses, and many others, and to enter the RESPECT! Challenge yourself.

To enter, head over to their campaign on Facebook, submit a note or video and be eligible to win 10K for a school or non-profit.

The campaign is sponsored by Futures Without Violence. From domestic and dating violence, to child abuse and sexual assault, Futures Without Violence works to end some of the most pressing global issues of our time.  Their mission is to advance the health, stability, education, and security of women and girls, men and boys worldwide.
