Brooklyn Bridge Park Hosts New “Bridge Culture” Festival

This weekend, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 1 will launch a new four-week festival called Bridge Culture: An International Festival of Music, Storytelling & Dance. This series will showcase communities from throughout New York City and cultures from around the world.  The festival will also help promote cultural exchange throughout NYC.  For more information, visit www.bridgeculture.org.

For its kick-off year, Bridge Culture will celebrate Brooklyn, India, Russia and Haiti with performances by some of New York City’s international artists. This Saturday, July 10th, from 4-6pm, the event will celebrate Brooklyn with by NYC-based Blues legend Michael Powers, Gowanus Wildcats Drill Team and Hip Hop/spoken word artist Queen Godis. 
Bridge Culture was conceived by artist/philanthropist Danny Simmons, a member of the Park’s Board of Directors.  It’s a project of Full Spectrum Experience, in partnership with Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation and the Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation and is sponsored by Bloomberg.
