Broadway Train Your Star

Broadway Edge

A few weeks ago I wrote about a workshop my daughter attended to learn the art of auditioning for a Broadway show.  My very shy daughter was transported into another world of music and dance for two hours.  It was the real mccoy.  Broadway Edge is more than just about auditioning – it’s all about building confidence and allowing each child to spontaneously access their powerful instincts. As a result, they become unstoppable as their belief rises to new levels.

That’s why I’m bringing this information again to you now – to give you the chance to sign up your own daughter or son for a chance to take an upcoming Broadway Edge workshop.

Broadway Edge’s founder, Jill Jaysen, (Award-Winning Director, Acting Coach, Founder of Center Stage Theatre Company) and Michael Schloegl, (Choreographer, Movement Coach, Founding Member of Vital Theatre Company), will team-up with Broadway professionals to help children master the art of auditioning in a Master Class Workshop, on Saturday, March 2nd through Sunday, March 3rd from 11:00am-5:00pm.

Utilizing the B.E.S.T Approach, (Belief, Energy, Strategy and Talent), Broadway Edge combines the Big Broadway Experience with one-on-one coaching, specified to each child’s needs. The result: Achieving a personal B.E.S.T. for an audition and for life.

This successful formula was first developed at Center Stage Theatre Company and has led to students performing on Broadway, Off-Broadway, on film and television. Past Broadway guest artists and award-winning industry professionals include: Ryan Duncan (SHREK), Terry Eldh (Phantom Of The Opera), Tibor Feldman (Film and TV), Lisa Fishcoff (Liz Lewis Casting), Joanna Glushak (Hairspray), Heather DeLude (Second City Conservatory), Holly Buczek (HDB Casting), Hunt Block (Film and TV), Justin Huff (Telsey + Company), Jill Jaysen (Award-Winning Director, Audition Coach), Chad Kimball (Memphis), Matt Loehr (Mary Poppins), Penny Ayn Maas (Cabaret), Cady McClain (Film and TV), Mike McGowan (Priscilla), Greg Mills (Phantom Of The Opera), Michelle Mallardi (Beauty And The Beast), Walter O’Neil (Wicked), Tony Pichette (Kipperman Casting NYC), Anthony Rapp (Rent), Ivan Rutherford (Les Misérables), Michael Schloegl (Director, Choreographer, Movement Coach) and Bill Youmans (Wicked).

Wasn’t that a mouthful?!

The workshop will be held at Nola Studios 244 West 54th Street, 5th Floor New York, NY 10019 and culminates in a performance for family members on March 3rd.  Space is limited and the class is recommended for children ages 8-18. They will be divided according to their age and ability.
