Family Matinee “Into the Woods” at Shakespeare in the Park

There is NOTHING better than Shakespeare in the Park.  Sitting in the center of NYC, watching some of the finest performers the city has, performing some of the finest plays ever written.   The experience becomes one that an adult will remember forever, yet alone a child.  That’s why this is so exciting.  The folks at Shakespeare in the Park are planning a Family & Youth Matinee of their current show, INTO THE WOODS.  Yes, Sondheim!  What a way to introduce your children to one of the best composers and lyricists of our lifetime.

This FREE performance has been designed to engage younger audiences and to serve families unable to attend evening performances and will feature only the first act of the show (running time approximately 90 minutes).

Here is how to get your FREE tickets: SITP will be accepting reservation requests for groups of 10 or more now through August 13. Interested groups can submit a request online here.  Groups selected to receive tickets will be contacted directly by August 15. Please note, there is a limited number of tickets available, and requests do not guarantee seating.

Family tickets for the August 22 matinee performance will be distributed, 4 per person, via the Virtual Ticketing lottery on shakespeareinthepark.org.

Registration for the lottery will be open Wednesday, August 15 at 4pm through Thursday, August 16 at 4pm. Lottery winners will be selected and contacted after this time. For instructions and more information, click here.
